Here is Heckel Bassoon #9752. The Heckel bassoons are the stuff of legends. Used by more orchestra professionals than any other bassoon, the sound of an older Heckel is unlike anything else in the bassoon world. This one was built right around when Heckel had started to make thicker walled instruments with a more robust sound. This instrument is in excellent condition. It has just been completely gone over by my master technician and is completely ready to play - please see a video of this bassoon being played on YouTube. This instrument was rescued from a high school (!) where it appears to have had some play, but nothing serious. Finish is original and the Heckel brand is clearly visible on all joints. The Heckel stamp in the boot is clear. This instrument has original keywork, so it does not have the high D or E key. We will have these added in early 2025 if we still have it by then - price is adjusted to take this into account.
