<p>Introduced in 1972, the Renard 220 (long bore) can be identified by a very warm "round" tone, evenly balanced, with excellent intonation throughout the entire range. It is the most secure design and its tone quality fits well into both chamber music and orchestral bassoon parts. Fox is the best American maker of bassoons and oboes, and the 220 is their flagship model for the Renard line. Fox's manufacturing is excellent. Intonation is very good, action feels good, and these bassoons sound good enough to play in a youth, civic, or college orchestra. </p>

It has just been cleaned, oiled, and adjusted in our shop and plays GREAT. This is a superb bassoon in every way.
