<p>Here's a GREAT Adolphe Sax tenor saxophone in C. Adolphe Sax, the inventor of the saxophone, should be well known to everyone here; his name was the first to grace the instruments that would eventually dominate the jazz world. This instrument is from the later part of Sax's workshop when it was operated by Adophe Edouard Sax, his son. They are unique players with an unmistakable sound and a great look into the early history of this instrument we all know and love. </p>
<p>This instrument is in very good condition. It has the original nickel plate finish. Keywork is in excellent condition, especially considering the age, and this horn has just been had a full repad in our shop. Pads are more modern though without resonators so it still has that haunting early Sax sound.A player as well as a historic piece!</p>
Provenance: The Historic Collection. This is from the collection of a well-known researcher and historian of woodwinds who spent a lifetime collecting rare and unique instruments. We are privileged to offer items from this collection for sale.
